Floral On Floral: How to Turn a DIY into a Statement Piece for you Outfit

I am so excited to finally style my DIY folded clutch that I did a tutorial on earlier this week! You guys know I love my jean shirts (they are in most of my Style Posts), they are always the perfect cover up for dresses and shirts and quite frankly, I'm addicted.

Its summer so floral is in now more than ever. When I went to Joann's to shop for fabrics I found this in the remnants section and fell in love! I usually shy away from floral patterns unless they are huge like the one on my clutch and I couldn't have picked better.

I got my white dress a while ago...I think from JCPenney which also has a floral lace pattern on it. When mixing different patterns the key is to make sure one is more dominant than the other. My dress took to the background for this look but provided the perfect backdrop for my clutch to stand out. Camel colored wedges (which I now match thanks to my beach tan) to top it off!

Funny story about this style post. I originally planned to take it in a field of sunflowers near my house: perfect location and perfect sunlight. There was ONE important factor of this location that was holding me back, it was filled with  bees. Anyone who knows me will know that I am terrified of bees. SO I gave up my beautiful location in hopes to conquer my fear another day, and I ended up loving these pictures and lighting so much more! Oh and don't forget to check out my DIY post up for a limited time!
