Holiday Parties after the Holidays10:07 AM
I accompanied my cousin to a corporate holiday party that her job hosted. I just added a few things that I love to my wardrobe, and I needed a reason to put an outfit together. After the holidays I got a couple of gift cards to spend here and there and one of them was to H&M who happened to be having an amazing sale (still is)! I was able to purchase a black blazer (finally) and a cute dress earlier during break, but I wanted to see what other deals I could find. I ended up paying twenty dollars for a dress, a shirt, and a cute necklace and none of them were black! Super proud of myself, already staying true to my fashion resolutions and making sure I venture away from black and into different patterns and bright colors. Jewel tones look nice on my skin tone, so after I tried on this shirt I knew it would fit perfectly with other items in my wardrobe. The gold zipper detail in the back really gave the top a polished look. One thing that I love about patterned pieces is that you don't have to work to hard to put a look together. I always say less is more and in this case the shirt made the look by itself. I put it with a simple black pencil and my new favorite lace up flats from TOPSHOP.
I got so many compliments on my look for the night including my hairstyles. Naturalista's! I have adopted this new look into my rotation which frames my face a little differently and presents a new take on "fringe" bangs. I love it! It is so easy and can be used if a twist out comes out a little less than perfect. All you need is water, an essential oil, (I used coconut), and any twisting cream!
