What To Wear For Valentine's Day: Casual

9:30 AM

Believe it or not, bloggers need fashion inspiration too! I noticed when I was researching outfits for my date this weekend that most of them were extremely dressy. When I am home or running errands on the weekends, you will find me in leggings and a crew neck. I figured some of you could relate, and I wanted to make sure I provided two types of outfits for inspiration when it came to picking out a look for this weekend!

Depending on what you might be doing with your date (or girlfriends), will dictate what you will be willing to wear out. My boyfriend is a sports fanatic and loves basketball. Turns out, All-Star weekend falls on Valentine’s Day weekend every year (how cruel haha)! So I know that in between brunch or dinner, there will be a little basketball here, screaming at the TV there, so comfort is always my concern next to cuteness of course.

I got this severely dress from Madison, a boutique in Raleigh. This dress is so soft and cozy and has been such a blessing to me during this cold winter (I hate the cold). The knitted accent in the middle cinches the dress in for a flattering look. I chose this for the causal V-day option because I have worn it with a jean jacket, a suede jacket, with tights and booties, pretty much all of the above. It is a great piece that you can dress up or dress down for any occasion.

I styled it with my favorite Aldo snakeskin clutch and my go-to block heels. For me, this look would be perfect for a Galentines brunch, or a dinner and movie date. If you ever feel like a look is too formal or dressy you can always switch out the shoes. Black lace-up flats would also look amazing with this outfit. Shoes serve as the anchor to any look and should be treated as such. They can make or break AJ outfit and can change the overall feel you are trying to achieve. So choose your shoes carefully and enjoy this weekend with your loves!
