The Importance of Women Supporting Other Women: The Authentic Woman Series

I am a firm believer that real women support other women! I am sure you guys hear about all the beautiful aspects of blogging: the free gifts, trips, and access to New York Fashion Week. However, there is an unhealthy element of competition between women in the blogger arena and the workplace in general. As a result, many bloggers suffer from what I call the “comparison syndrome.” It is the constant comparison between yourself and who seems to be living a better life, or seems to be in better shape. For some reason we don’t realize we are perfectly capable of praising and shining our light onto other women without diminishing our own. There’s beauty in supporting other women’s success, but what does that support look like?

As women we have to make supporting each other our #1 priority. We are not only mothers, wives, girlfriends, daughters, and sisters; but we are entrepreneurs, innovators, leaders, and dreamers. We should be acknowledged and acknowledge each other as such. That is why I am so happy to be a part of an amazing campaign like The Authentic Woman Series. Created by Ashton Long, The Authentic Woman Series focuses on calling women to love their bodies, Chase their dreams, and use their talents to change the world. Ashton is the founder of The Authentic Woman, a platform that empowers women to live authentically as themselves. She firmly believes that women have the power to shift culture, eradicate unjust standards and ultimately change the world. When she's not working with her husband, she is most likely sipping on a cup of local coffee, swooning over pottery or adding to her succulent collection. Ashton really focuses on spreading positivity by teaching women how to know and appreciate their worth and to STOP comparing themselves to the “goals” of social media.
