Restauraunt's You Must Try: BarTaco

It’s Tuesday, Taco Tuesday to be exact, which means if you need a reason to get out cooking tonight you have one. I consider myself a foodie for sure. As a matter of fact, whenever I travel, trying out new restaurants and sightseeing are always at the top of my to-do list. If you’re looking for a new taco place to try out, you are going to love Bartaco. They just opened a new location close to me and I was so excited to see what their menu would have to offer. When it comes to restaurants, I take environments and aesthetics seriously. There’s something about being able to eat amazing food in a pretty restaurant that makes my experience just ten times better. Now everyone has their favorite hole-in-the-wall that will forever have our loyalty, but a pretty restaurant with good food never hurt anyone either.

I love the environment of our Bartaco. The blue and white decor definitely reminds me so much of summer travels. They have a wood burning fire place outside, which I’m sure during the night and when it starts to get cold, will add such a nice ambience. The inside didn’t disappoint either with different art pieces on the walls and plants hanging from the ceiling. Successful interior design really emits a certain mood and takes you to a different place.

I actually love tacos and I am pretty open to trying new items so I wanted to be adventurous and stray away from my usual: Carne Asada. I ordered two of Bartaco’s Baja Fish tacos, and one Tuna Takato taco. The tuna was definitely out of my comfort zone. It was seared on the outside with a tender center on a bed of Asian flavored slaw, with lettuce as the “tortilla.” My waited assured me that I would love it, but if I didn’t he would swap it out for another so I decided to give it a shot. It was totally worth it! The tuna was amazing and the Asian slaw brought out all the right flavors. I also felt somewhat healthier having lettuce substitute the tortilla so that was a plus. The Baja Fish tacos were amazing as well with a perfect crunch factor. I realized recently that I really love crunchy food. I went with one of my good friends and we essentially got three courses for around $15. This will obviously vary depending on which tacos you get but the prices were amazing.

You can’t forget dulces! Their churros were super delicious and served with the signature chocolate sauce. That was just my sweet item of choice but they have other options as well! I can’t wait to share my experiences with more places in my area! If you go to a Bartaco any time soon make sure you let me know what you think about your meal!
