If you follow me on Instagram (@genuinely_aa) then you know that I’ve been hinting towards a Fall style post where I’ve gotten the clothes for an unbelievable deal. I collaborated with Breanna of Flawbless blog to shop and style a few fall looks from a major retailer we all know so well. I want you guys to keep that in mind while you’re looking through this post and we will see if you guessed correctly when we get to the end!
With fall weather, comes fall style and I really wanted to try some different silhouettes that I have not worn in a while. Specifically turtle necks. So the two looks you will see in this post have turtleneck tops or sweaters in them and I feel like the outfits turned out very well. Due to my petite size, it is really hard to find turtlenecks that don’t make me look like a 12 year old. They are either way too big or super tight and not suitable for work or church. I was able to find a turtleneck sweater in a gorgeous olive color and styled it with these super stretchy jeggings! Even though the turtleneck has a looser fit, I didn’t feel like it completely swallowed my frame. I hate being cold so I always try to find the warmest and softest sweaters. Wool sweaters usually keep me cozy but make me itch, which is a no-no so I was happy that this sweater kept me warm and was soft without irritating my skin and the best part was it was only $17. You guys have heard in the past how I’ve struggled with jeans: finding the right pair, finding the right fit, and so on. Jeggings have been an amazing alternative because it’s the perfect blend between the elasticity of jeggings and the social acceptance of jeans (even though I consider leggings real pants). Not only are these jeggings comfortable, but the wash color is amazing. I think dark jeans look better on me and the high waist was a nice touch. Every girl should own a pair of high waist pants and I was also able to snag these for $17!
I kept the accessories down to a minimum so you guys could focus on the pieces but you could style this look with over the knee boots, or a fur vest, statement earrings or a statement necklace. It’s really versatile to where you can keep it casual like I did, or dress it up a little for a night out! Regardless of the occasion I love to be stylish as much as I love to be comfortable and both pieces are easy to wear all day.
You should be able to find this amazing sweater in several colors in store! I have linked similar sweaters you will love below:
For look number two we have this gorgeous camel cardigan over a cream turtle neck and a pair of girlfriend culottes. This cardigan looks really expensive but it only cost around $20! The quality of this cardigan really surprised me, I actually got another cardigan that will be featured in a life’s styles post later, but both cardigans feel amazing! I just kept thinking to myself that a cardigan like this would cost $40 at H&M or maybe even $60 at stores like New York and Company. I’m really into neutrals, especially during the fall, and this cardigan partnered perfectly with my Sam Edelman booties. As it starts to cool down, layering is so important. I am a person that’s always cold, but for those of you who get a little toasty during the day wearing layers helps insure you’ll stay comfortable all day long. I love how this look turned out, it’s such a simple fall look that you can wear anywhere. This cardigan was such a great buy and I’m so happy my sister let me take it out of her closet and style it before I snagged my own (thanks Teri lol).
Seems like this cardigan is sold out online, but never fear! I have linked similar cardigans below that come in some perfect fall colors. Check your local store for availability!
So I guess now I can reveal to you where I got these lovely pieces. Drum roll please….I got these pieces from WALMART! Walmart has a new collection called Time and Tru and the collection is amazing! I got all three pieces for under $60! Since the. I’ve purchased a pair of joggers, a chenille sweater, and some basic tees that will be featured in a Walmart haul for YouTube! So keep an eye out for that fashion filled video, until then head to Breanna’s post to see what pieces she grabbed and how they were styled!
