How to Prioritize Your Self-Care Routine 

          We've officially started the new year and we're supposed to feel good right? So what's up with the post-holiday drag! I mentioned in the nine things I learned from 2019 post that I was going to be focusing on self-care. Often we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life we forget to do the simple things that make us who we are. Whether that's painting your nails every week, doing at home facials or spending time with family and friends.  Are you struggling to find work-life balance or make time for yourself? Is it hard for you to take a "chill pill?" Me too. Here's how you can start to prioritize your self-care this year!

Recognizing the Problem

          Towards the end of the year, I started to experience creative burn out. I didn’t want to write for my clients. I had no passion for creating content outside of sponsored work. I noticed that as soon as I woke up I was already thinking about going to bed. I was even thinking of ways to get out of lunch dates and dinner dates!

That’s when I noticed that something was wrong. My day to day life became a culmination of wedding planning and work to-dos. I was completely forgetting to include fun stuff in my schedule that I enjoyed.

You can't pour from an empty cup. It's impossible. We have to do the things that help keep us filled and our passion tank on full! If we aren’t good to ourselves, we won’t be good for anyone else. By prioritizing my self-care, I was able to get out of my creative stink! It's also why I was super excited to partner with REEDS Jewelers on their recent STOP collection.
