Happy Thursday! I hope you guys are having a great week. As some of you know, the Hubs and I’ve been doing a green smoothie challenge to cleanse our systems and tone up a bit. We’ve done Whole30 in the past and at the time I thought that was extremely tough. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the Green Smoothie challenge, but I knew that it would be difficult given my recent sweet tooth obsession.
As someone who’s already pretty petite, I had no intention of losing any weight, but the Hubs was excited to drop a few pounds. However, if you’re looking to lose weight, it’s common for most people to lose around 10 to 20 pounds following this regiment. Our last day of the challenge was yesterday and I’m so proud of us for making it all the way through! We ended the Green Smoothie challenge feeling refreshed, renewed, and ready to take on our new diet. Here’s how it went.
What we’re allowed to eat:
– smoothie ingredients (of course)
-peanut butter (unsweetened)
What we couldn’t eat:
The first three days were the toughest. I had cravings out the wazoo and I was hungry 24/7. After that, I started to get adjusted to my new “diet” and had cravings less often and supplemented any hunger pains with the snack items listed above.
I noticed that my skin stayed clear. Even though I experienced an influx of various hormones because…female life, I didn’t have my normal monthly breakout. I also wasn’t as sluggish in the morning and slept better during the night.
My main challenges were drinking my entire smoothie (32oz) and making sure that I was drinking enough water during the day. They always say the first few days of changing your life are the hardest and I experienced some negative effects as well but we’ll talk about that next time.
What have you done recently to better your health?
