A Quick Recap
As I mentioned, my husband wanted to lose around 10 pounds, but my goal was to reset my digestive system and give my poor gut a break from bread, sugar, and salt. After we broke the hungry hump of the first three days, the challenge actually got easier. We looked forward to making our smoothies every morning and grew accustomed to our “new diet.” Now don’t get me wrong, we still had our mile-long list of things we looked forward to eating after the cleanse, but we were able to power through.
My Results
One of my favorite results from this challenge was getting rid of unwanted bloating. I’m pretty petite, so when I’m bloated it shows and I look pregnant. I wish I would’ve taken pictures to show my before and after the process, but even when I pushed out my stomach it was noticeably flatter. I also noticed that my cramps were not as bad this month and that my body didn’t feel fatigued in the morning. I had more energy throughout the day which led to more productivity.
My Final Thoughts
Overall, I’d suggest everyone do this challenge to the best of their ability. We truly enjoyed it and we plan on doing it at least two times a year. We must take care of ourselves from the inside out. We don’t want to look good on the outside and be dying on the inside. With the gut being our “second brain” it’s important that we take care of it to keep our bodies operating at their best. Was it tough? Yes. Was it worth it? 10,000 times yes. I look forward to sharing recipes and our diet change with you all in the future!
